2009 State Dairy Princess Pageant
The
Pennsylvania Dairy Princess and Promotion Services, Inc. held its 53rd
Annual Dairy Princess Pageant on Saturday evening, September 26, 2009 at the
Radisson Penn Harris Hotel and Convention Center in Harrisburg, PA.
Twenty-five county Dairy Princesses competed for the title of 2009 - 2010
Pennsylvania Dairy Princess.
The newly selected Princess and her two alternates will reign for a period
of one year from September 2009 to September 2010.
During that time, they will represent the dairy farmers of Pennsylvania
speaking out for its number one agricultural industry and all dairy
products.
The Pageant was held after two full days of activities and interviews for the
contestants. The contestants are judged on a personal interview, a 3-5
minute speech for an adult audience, a 3-5 minute school presentation and a
scrapbook.
Four judges, two men and two women, all from out-of-state, select seven
finalists who will answer an impromptu question on stage. The judges will
then select the 2009 Pennsylvania Dairy Princess and two Alternates from the
finalists.
