Dairy Princess:
The 2007-2008 PA Dairy Princess is Lyndsey Rebecca Royek of Erie County.
Lyndsey
is the 16 year old daughter of Walter and Lisa Royek.
She has two brothers, Alan, 14, Curtis, 10 and one sister, Annie, 12.
The Royek’s reside on the 250 acre Royek Dairy Farm with 55 milking of
the total 100 head of Holstein and Guernseys.
Lyndsey owes 6 head. Hay
and corn are raised on the farm. Lyndsey
has been involved in dairy education for 10 years by working with her family in
training teachers about dairy farming and the dairy industry at the annual Ag in
Classroom seminar. She is a junior
at Corry Area High School and would like to attend Penn State University to
major in marketing and hopefully eventually work in dairy promotion.
In high school, she is active in varsity soccer, varsity swimming, member
of National Honor Society, sophomore class treasurer and a mentor in PALS mentor
program and is currently serving as co-captain.
Outside of school, Lyndsey is involved in youth group, YMCA competitive
swimming, dancing at Long’s School of Dance for 10 years including tap,
ballet, acro, jazz and pointe, a 6 year member of Milky Ways 4-H club and has served
for 2 years as secretary, PA Jr. Guernsey Breeders Association, the northwest
regional representative for the PA Jr. Holstein Association and has participated
in the Jr. Holstein dairy bowl competition for 4 years.
Lyndsey is no stranger to showing dairy cattle with holding title of
the county master showman for two years, the county master fitter and
owns the county’s reserve grand champion Holstein for the past two years.
Lyndsey’s hobbies include reading, dancing and showing cows.
First
Alternate
Stephanie Della Beeman, Cumberland County Dairy Princess was selected as First
Alternate.
A former PA
State FFA officer is serving as the 2007-2008 Cumberland County Dairy Princess.
Stephanie Della Beeman is the 22 year old daughter of Steven and Diane
Beeman of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She
has 2 sisters, Rachael, 30 and Katie, 28 and 3 brothers, John, 25, Thomas, 20,
and Zachary, 16. She is
sophomore at Harrisburg Area Community College and will be transferring to Penn
State next year studying Agribusiness. Stephanie
is employed at Nells Shurfine Markets. She
is a 2004 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School where she was active in
track and field, German club, FFA and goat 4-H.
Her activities include serving as a 4-H adult volunteer and being active
in FFA Alumni. Stephanie
hobbies include hiking, reading, scrapbooking, raising livestock , swimming and
traveling. Stephanie’s
grandfather and uncle have dairy farmers and she has raised dairy heifers.

Sarah
Beth Weimer, Clarion/Venango Dairy Princess was selected Second Alternate.
A
senior at Keystone High School is this year’s Clarion-Venango Dairy Princess,
Sarah Beth Weimer. Sarah is no
stranger to dairy promotion with serving as a dairy miss for 2 years and a dairy
ambassador for 3 years before becoming dairy princess.
She lives on the 162 acre Solid Gold Holsteins farm with Holsteins and
Guernseys. Sarah owns 14 head.
In high school, Sarah is the treasurer of the National Honor Society,
served as secretary of the junior class, treasurer of student government, member
of Europe club, color guard, track and field team, concert choir and school
musical. Sarah was a 2006
scholar at the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for Agricultural Sciences,
attended the 2006 Hugh O’Brian Youth Conference and the 2007 Girl’s State
citizenship training. This summer,
Sarah traveled to Europe with her school. Sarah
is enrolled in the Leaders’ Early Admission Program at Clarion University of
Pennsylvania (a duel enrollment program for high school students).
Her other activities include being a member of Salem Reformed United
Church of Christ, youth group and Sunday school, secretary of Milkmasters 4-H
Dairy Club where she has been a member for 10 years showing dairy, beef and
goats. Sarah is active member of PA
Jr. Holstein Association and PA Jr. Guernsey Breeders.
She has been a member of the national winning dairy quiz bowl team at the
National Guernsey convention in 2003 – 2005.
Sarah also won the 2005 National Guernsey Public Speaking Contest –
intermediate division. Sarah’s
others hobbies include reading, shopping and traveling.
Sarah is the daughter of Mike and Cindy Weimer and has one brother,
Spencer, 15.
