Becky and Amber's Bull Run Nachos
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 9-10 oz. bag tortilla chips
1 lb. sharp Cheddar Cheese,
shredded
1 lb. Monterey Jack Cheese,
shredded
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1 cup chopped lettuce
2 TBSP garlic powder
Jalapeno peppers (optional)
Sour Cream
(optional)
In a large non-stick skillet, brown ground beef, 1/2 cup onion
and taco seasoning over medium heat for about 10 to 12 minutes
or until meat is no longer pink. Drain off excess fat. Set
aside. Arrange tortilla chips on large serving platter,
side-to-side. Top tortilla chips with hot beef mixture, making
certain that each chip is covered. Sprinkle
Cheese over beef mixture following with
garlic powder and then the lettuce, tomatoes and remaining 1/2
cup onion. Top with jalapeno peppers and a generous amount of
Sour Cream. Enjoy!
