2005 Mini- Seminar

102 young dairy promoters and 40 adults met at Mt. Nittany Middle School, State College on  July 22, 2005 for a one day training seminar on the what, how and whys of Dairy Promotion.

Led by our reigning Pennsylvania Dairy Princess, Amy Hartle, and Alternates, Kelly Over and Sarah Wickard, the team of former Dairy Royalty, Sara Jennings, Rachel Ebert, Ashley Chapman, Raechel Kilgore, Pam Werley and  Center for Dairy Excellence Intern, Rosie Zaginaylo, conducted a variety of informational workshops for the assembled Dairy Maids, Ambassadors, and Misses. Three sets of workshops were held for the attendees based on whether they had been to mini-seminar, one, two or three or more times.  The adults had the opportunity to meet with Junia Isiminger, Executive Director to address any questions or concerns that they might have.

PDPPS Coordinators, Charlene Ranck, Donna Werley, Brenda Daubert and Jan Harding assisted the State Dairy Royalty.  Also assisting with the seminar were Executive Director, Junia Isiminger and PDPPS intern, Katie Waddell.

Packets containing information on Pennsylvania's Dairy Industry and handout materials for workshops were distributed to each representative along with a poster and tee shirt.

Jessica Bailor, 1998 Juniata County Dairy Princess and 1999 Tina M. Shultz Award Winner, gave an encouraging speech, "All I need to Know About Life, I learned on a Dairy Farm". The days activities were concluded by taking group photos.
